São Paulo – The Gross Production Value (GPV) for coffee in Brazil this year should be BRL 22.6 billion (USD 7.2 billion), according to data from the Secretariat for Agricultural Policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, made public by the Coffee Division of the Brazil Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa).
The GPV is an estimate of total gross revenue based on the average price paid to producers. Total agriculture and livestock farming revenue is seen reaching BRL 548 billion (USD 176.2 billion) this year, up 3.2% from last year.
