São Paulo – Emirates Airline should promote its Open Day in coming days. The event is a selection process for crew members interested in working for the company. The event should be promoted in several cities and countries. In Brazil, it will be promoted in São Paulo on Saturday (12) and in Rio de Janeiro, on Sunday (13).
For the process, candidates may show up at the site specified with their curriculum and certificates. If the person is in line with the necessary requirements for the position, the selection process continues, with interviews in the following weeks.
According to a press statement disclosed by the company, candidates may talk to the Emirates recruitment staff, to obtain further information about the company and about Dubai, where the Emirates headquarters are and to where many company employees move.
In January, the Open Day should also take place in Cagliari, Italy; Vigo, Zaragoza, Tenerife and Barcelona, in Spain; Cairo, in Egypt, Ljubljana, in Slovenia, Sarajevo, in Bosnia; Bristol, Plymouth, Manchester and Leeds, in the United Kingdom; Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia, Toronto and Montreal, in Canada; Adelaide, Cairns and Brisbane, in Australia; Warsaw and Gdansk, in Poland; Zagreb and Split, in Croatia; Cork and Dublin, in Ireland; and Thessaloniki, in Greece.
Emirates has 14,000 flight attendants from 120 countries, speaking 50 languages. Of this total, 449 are Brazilian. In each of the company’s flights, at least ten languages are spoken by the cabin staff. According to the company, there are Brazilians on all Emirates routes, and the company flies to 128 cities, but special care is paid to guaranteeing that there is a least one crew member who speaks Portuguese on flights that transport more Brazilian passengers. In total, 625 Brazilians work for Emirates. Apart from the flight attendants, there are 90 pilots and management staff also.
The company flies to 74 countries. It operates 194 aircraft and has another 205 on order, totalling US$ 74 billion. Of the total, 30 of the aeroplanes in operation and 60 of those on orders are the Airbus A380, the largest aircraft in the world. The company is the main operator of the aircraft.
Emirates has been flying to Brazil since 2007, when it inaugurated the Dubai – São Paulo route, with daily flights. In January 2012, the company expanded its operations in the country, opening the second route, Dubai – Rio de Janeiro – Buenos Aires, in Argentina. Apart from the daily passenger flights, the company also flies to Viracopos, in Campinas, under its cargo division, Emirates SkyCargo.

Candidates should be over 21 and must take an English curriculum and photograph to the Open Day. The company recommends registration on site http://www.emirates.com/careers prior to participation in the event.
The Open Day in São Paulo should take place next Saturday (12), starting at 9:00 am, at Bourbon Convention Ibirapuera (Avenida Ibirapuera, 2.527, Moema).
The Open Day in Rio de Janeiro should take place on Sunday (13), at 9:00 am, at Ion Intelligent Centre (Avenida das Américas, 1.650, Barra da Tijuca).
