São Paulo – Company BM Sourcing FZC, headquartered in Ajman Free Zone, in the United Arab Emirates, which represents producers of steel in over 10 countries, is seeking Brazilian suppliers. The purchasing manager at the company, Rajiv Manghani, is in Brazil participating in business meetings. He was in Rio de Janeiro last week and is now in São Paulo, seeking new trade partners.
“The quality of the products and the flexibility regarding negotiations with Brazilian businessmen is very interesting. Prices are high when compared to the Chinese and Indian prices, but I believe it will be possible to close a deal in the near future," said Manghani to ANBA. “I have visited many companies over the last three days and Brazilian businessmen are very flexible and available to negotiate," he pointed out.
On Friday (23), Manghani was at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce offices, where he participated in several meetings with Brazilian businessmen. One of them was Paulo Kenji Fujihara, the director at Sanken, a maker of steel pipes that is headquartered in Mairiporã, in Greater São Paulo.
“He was greatly interested in our products and we agreed to send some price quotes over the days to come. Our main problem is regarding the price, but he came to Brazil because he is interested in quality," said Fujihara.
The company, which produces 12,000 tonnes of steel pipes a year and employs 56 people, does not yet export, but has Petrobras as its main client. "We have the API stamp, global certification that shows the quality of our products, and we are prepared to produce steel pipes for the global oil and gas industry," said Fujihara.
According to him, the company has already received requests for price quotes from the Emirates, Turkey, Chile and Russia, but it first needs to increase production to supply demand on the international market. “We are seeking partners to make possible the expansion of our industrial plant. In two or three years, we plan to increase our production capacity to 300,000 tonnes a year," he said.
BM Sourcing FZC is a subsidiary of Invogue FZC International, a company that is 34 years old and specialized in steel in the Middle East and North Africa. The company is the official representative of steel producers in over 10 countries, but it sells most of its products on the Arab market. The company has branches in Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and representative offices in China, India, Taiwan, Turkey and Korea.
“Our main business is selling the produce of four steel producers to traders, foremen and construction companies," said Manghani.
According to him, the employees are also qualified to inspect the quality of the steel material at the port, prior to shipment. "We also offer post-sale services with delivery of the product, inspection of quality for end users and customs clearance of the products," he explained.
Apart from that, according to Manghani, some employees also have knowledge of steel trade and can inform clients about market conditions, better guiding them regarding the purchase of products.
