Brasília – Brazil’s president Jair Bolsonaro said this Friday (11) that the federal government is doubling the current ceiling for purchases at duty-free shops. “Brazilians on return trips from abroad will be able to buy USD 1,000 in items at airports – the current limit is USD 500,” he wrote in his personal Twitter account.
According to the president, the Ministry of Economy is issuing a decree in a few days. Bolsonaro also tweeted that the quota for purchases on ground trips to Paraguay will go from USD 300 to USD 500 per person.
