São Paulo – Tourism agency and operator Abreu has selected Morocco as its main destination for 2018. According to the company, the Arab country is at the top of the list of those that like to travel to exotic places. There, tourists can get to know the architecture, historical cities, visit the desert, plus great cuisine and hospitality. The accessible prices are also an important factor and, according to the agency, the destination offers great value for the price.

Close destinations such as Turkey and Egypt, options for the travelers that like to explore different cultures, have been facing political and social instabilities and, therefore, according to the agency, Morocco have been getting more tourists lately. Official data says that 11.4 million people visited the country in 2017, up 10% over 2016.
Abreu signed a partnership with the airline Royal Air Maroc, which offers 4 weekly flights to Casablanca, the largest Moroccan city, from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The airline also offers flights to Fez and Marrakech from the two Brazilian cities.
“After signing the partnership, sales to Morocco doubled over 2016 and Abreu is expecting an increase of 40% in sales of tour packages to Morocco over 2017, as a result of the destination’s marketing campaign,” said Ronnie Corrêa, the operator’s general director.
Corrêa says that emerging markets such as Brazil has been large sources of tourists to Morocco and that “much of this growth is the result of new flights by Royal Air Maroc alongside the work of tour operators with an expertise in tourist experiences such as Abreu.”
According to the director, this is a promising scenario, and Morocco is one of Abreu’s major bets. The operator is coordinating a tie-in campaign between Brazil and Portugal to boost the number of tourists that visit the region.
