São Paulo – From May 23 to 25, 2016, Algeria will host the International Exhibition on Oil, Gas and Petrochemistry (OGEX) at the Oran Convention Center. The event targets energy industry professionals and will feature discussions, as well as products and services in exhibition.
Over 200 exhibitors from 20 different countries and 700 speakers are expected. The exhibition should welcome 7,000 local and foreign visitors from the hydrocarbon industry, service providers, government bodies, international organizations, agencies, research centers and consulting firms, according to the OGEX website.
Topics under discussion will include the Algerian oil and gas industry, refining and petrochemistry, exploration and production, energy efficiency, risk management, safety and environment.
Algeria holds 20 billion cubic meters of technically recoverable shale gas, in addidtion to 4.5 billion cubic meters of conventional natural gas reserves. Algeria’s state-run oil company Sonatrach has a USD 100 billion investment program spanning 2014 to 2018.
Located 430 km away from the capital Algiers, in Northwest Algeria, Oran, where OGEX is held, is the second biggest city in Algeria. A Mediterranean port city and tourist resort, it is home to three industrial zones.
The exhibition is organized by Symbiose Communication Environnement and by Greenorbis International.
