São Paulo – The article “Green tarmac wins roads,” written by journalist Isaura Daniel and released on the Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA) website, is a finalist for the 2nd Journalism Prize of the Brazilian Construction Industry Chamber (CBIC). The article is competing in the internet category with four other stories, two from Diário de Pernambuco, one from the O Estado de S. Paulo newspaper website, and another from news website G1 .
The ANBA article is an exposé on efforts to use recycled tyres in tarmac production in Brazil. In addition to giving a noble end to tyres that would otherwise be disposed of and take a long time to decompose, the tarmac made from reused rubber improves road performance.
According to information released by the event’s organizers, 134 articles were submitted. The CBIC will award the best stories in the television, radio, printed media and internet categories, in addition to the Construction Industry Journalism Grand Prize. Awards will also be granted in three special categories: Real Estate Market, Infrastructure, and Innovation and Sustainability. The award ceremony will take place in August in Brasília.
