São Paulo – The Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA) is one of the finalists of the 1st Abear Journalism Award, promoted by the Brazilian Airline Association (Abear). The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce’s news agency is competing in the “Cargo” category with article “Guarulhos Airport to expand cargo capacity”, written by reporter Marcos Carrieri and published on April 15th.
The Abear Journalism award has finalists in another three categories: “Sustainability”, “Flight Experience” and “Competitiveness”. The categories include print, television journalism, magazines and sites. In the “Cargo” category, ANBA is competing with Flap Internacional magazine, with the Folha de Pernambuco (newspaper), with TV Vitória, connected to Rede Record, and with TV Anhanguera, which is connected to Globo TV in Goiás.
The award should dish out R$ 30,000 to the winners: R$ 5,000 to the beast article in each category and R$ 10,000 to the best article among them all. Abear was established in 2012 by the five main airlines in the country: TAM, Gol, Avianca, Trip and Azul, the two latter now joined into one airline.
Ever since it was established, in 2003, ANBA has already won 11 awards and has been a finalist or among the best placed in another seven occasions.
