São Paulo – Vehicle exports from Brazil were down 28.9% January-on-January, according to information released this Thursday (6th) by the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea, in the Portuguese acronym). A total of 25,779 units were shipped. Agricultural machinery exports also declined to 556 units in January this year from 817 units in 2013.
According to Anfavea, sales of new vehicles, including automobiles, light commercial vehicles, buses and trucks stood at 312,618 units, up 0.4% from January 2013, but down 11.7% from December 2013.
The figures released by the association also show that in January this year, 237,491 vehicles were manufactured in Brazil, down 18.7% from January 2013 and up 2.9% from December 2013.
