São Paulo – The Brazilian auto parts industry will be present at Automechanika Dubai 2015, which happens next week, from June 2nd to 4th, in the United Arab Emirates. A group of 17 manufacturing companies from the sector will exhibit their products in a stand organized by the National Union of the Automotive Vehicle Component Industry (Sindipeças) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
The Brazilian participation will happen through the project Brasil Auto Parts – Trusted Partners, which was created by Sindipeças and Apex-Brasil to promote the sector’s industry and its products in the international market. The Brazilian presence will be larger this year than in the previous one, when only ten companies attended the fair in Dubai.
Antônio Carlos Bento, the Sindipeças advisor in charge of Fairs and Events and the Brazil Auto Parts – Trusted Partners program, names several reasons for the greater corporate interest in the fair. One is the allowance Apex-Brasil offers to cut costs for participating companies. He also mentions that the US dollar to Brazilian real exchange rate is favorable to exports, and the fact that the Brazilian market is on a slump.
Bento names Automechanika Dubai as one of the world’s leading industry events and says it has become a hub from which to enter markets in the Middle East and Africa. The exhibition is also considered a space for corporations to stay up-to-date, and to see what’s going on in the global industry in terms of new technologies and products.
The Gulf countries and North Africa imported US$ 112 million worth of products from Sindipeças-affiliated businesses last year. Bento says the number is not highly relevant, but remarks that sales to the region are on the way up – last year they soared by 100%. The consultant stresses that in case this growth is sustained, sales will double again in 2015.
According to Bento, the Brazilian exhibiting companies are exporters with a background in the field. In the Arab world, they cater to the replacement parts market. Deals closed at fairs are usually made in this area, rather than with automakers. The companies attending Automechanika Dubai are ABR, Chiptronic, Controil, Duroline, Engrecon, Farj, Fras-le, Fremax, Frum, K Parts, Masterpower, Schadek, SBU, Suporte Rei, Univel, Urba-Brosol e Zen.
