São Paulo – Brazil placed fifth in the ranking of countries whose wind power generation capacity increased the most. The information was made public by the Brazilian federal government, based on data from the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). According to the GWEC, Brazil’s wind power generation capacity widened by 2,014 MW in 2016.
As a result, Brazil became the ninth biggest wind power generation capacity in the world, at 10,740 megawatts (MW), and the biggest in Latin America. China topped the ranking, followed by the United States, Germany and India.
