São Paulo – Brazil exported the equivalent of US$ 4.882 billion last week, up 8.6% from the preceding weeks in March based on daily average figures, according to data released this Monday (25th) by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Imports stood at US$ 4.671 billion, up 1.7% using the same basis of comparison. The resulting trade surplus was US$ 211 million.
The result did not suffice to offset the month-to-date deficit, currently at US$ 1 million, the result of US$ 14.771 billion in exports and US$ 14.772 billion in imports. Based on daily averages, exports are down 2.9% from March last year. Imports are up 7.5%.
