The garment hub of São João Nepomuceno, a city in the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais which has a population of 28,000 inhabitants, has been in operation for around forty years and produces almost one million items a month. Around 60,000 are exported. But, more than making clothes, the city wants to enter the Brazilian fashion calendar. In April, the city had their first parade, Fashion Mix.
