Ironworks industries in Brazil hope to reach sales revenues of US$ 6.7 billion with foreign sales in the year of 2005. The volume exported should rise 5% when compared to last year and should reach 12.6 million tonnes. The revenue increase is due to the growth of sales of finished products.

The cosmetics industry should total revenues of US$ 400 million in foreign sales up to the end of the year. The sector has been expanding its clients outside the country, although South America is still the main destination. New markets, like the Arab, entered the list of countries that import sector products in recent years.

Agência Brasil Brasília – President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva declared yesterday that by paying off its US$15.5 billion debt with the International Monetary Fund, Brazil was demonstrating its independence.
