The decision was announced on Thursday (21). As informed by ANBA in August, the company wants to increase production by over 50%. Today the company produces 14 million tonnes of iron pellets per year. The pellets are used in the production of steel. The Arab countries are among the main clients and the company has its eye on the expansion of ironworks in the region.
The volume represents a 29.3% increase over the first nine months last year. The greater demand for Brazilian chemical products in the foreign market was one of the factors that drove the performance.
The Brazilian factory, which has exclusive distributors in all the Arab countries, exported 5,500 tonnes of chocolates to the Middle East and North Africa between January and August this year. Sales to the region have risen 142% since 2003.
Aquaglide, the result of a joint venture between Companhia Câmara Construções Navais and ATTK, is going to produce crafts called Ekranoplans, which look like aeroplanes but fly just off the surface of the water. The initial investment will be approximately US$ 35 million, but may rise as high as US$ 80 million.
