São Paulo – The Construction Confidence Index surveyed monthly by Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) with businessmen from the sector registered a slight upturn in June of 0.1% over May. The index reached 73.5 points this month and still remains below the average, which is 118.3 points. However, it recovered over last month, when it dropped 4.7% over April.
According to data released this Friday (26th) by FGV, the slight increase was boosted by the index that measures the expectations of the sector’s businessmen for the economy in six months’ time. Meanwhile, the index that measures the current situation of the economy by these businessmen’s viewpoint declined in June for the seventh straight month. In comparison with last month, it was a 4.2% drop. The survey was done from June 1st to 24th with 667 companies from the construction industry.
