São Paulo – Dubai is hosting Arabplast, the Middle East’s leading plastics, petrochemicals and rubber expo from January 10th to 13th. The event is held biennially and will feature 41 exhibitors from North America, Europe, Asia and Arab countries.
Products on showcase will include packaging machinery, injection moulding, paint resins, printer ink, injection and compression moulding, tyre manufacturing machinery and petrochemicals, among other products.
According to information from the Arabplast website, the Gulf countries are poised to become the world’s leading suppliers of polyethylene and polypropylene. Next year, their combined production capacity is expected to reach 21.5 million tonnes for polyethylene and 9.5 million tonnes of polypropylene. According to the event’s organizers, by 2020, the world will consume 540 million tonnes of plastic.
The event will feature major corporations such as ExxonMobil Chemical and Basf. The latest edition, in 2013, had 25,646 visitors from 106 countries.
