São Paulo – The Brazilian state-owned aircraft manufacturer Embraer announced today (14) that it delivered 40 aircraft in the first quarter of this year, being 32 business jets and eight executive aircraft. According to the company, as of March 31st, its firm order backlog totalled US$ 19.7 billion.
Among the highlights of the first three months of 2009, the company also listed the signing of a contract with the government of Ecuador involving the sale of 24 aircraft of the Super Tucano model, a turboprop aircraft for pilot training and light attack, thus increasing to 169 the number of units ordered by the country.
