Dubai – The Director General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Ibrahim Al-Abed, received today (01) the marketing vice president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Rubens Hannun, and journalists of the Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA) and of RBS, from Santa Catarina (southern Brazil), at the Ministry of Communication and Culture in Abu Dhabi.
WAM, which belongs to the government of the Emirates, has a partnership with ANBA for trading news stories and information. Al-Bed said he was surprised by the visit of a Brazilian delegation to the Emirates, and that it is is important to disclose news about Brazil in an Arab country.
The Arab agency was established in 1976 and has 282 employees all over the country, not to mention its 27 correspondents throughout the world. WAM is responsible for the distribution of material to newspapers, radio, television and the Internet.
