São Paulo – Invepar has won the auction held this Friday morning (27th), at the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) to manage the stretch of the BR-040 road extending from Juiz de Fora, in the state of Minas Gerais, to Brasília, in the Federal District. The auction was the last of the year, held by the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT, in the Portuguese acronym) as a part of the federal government’s Logistics Investment Program (PIL).
Invepar’s bid, with a 61.13% markdown from the maximum toll price, was the best out of eight bidding companies. The company, which already manages the São Paulo International Airport in Guarulhos, will retain the concession of this stretch of BR-040 for the next 30 years.
The maximum price at each of the 11 toll plazas was R$ 8.29763. Invepar offered to charge R$ 3.22528 and won the auction. The second best bid was submitted by the Via Capital consortium, comprising seven enterprises, at a markdown of 44.63%.
The winning company will be required to invest roughly R$ 6.6 billion for the duration of the concession. Most of the funds will be invested on duplication of the stretch, which covers 936 km. Apart from this, the concessionaire will have to build local express lanes, footbridges, accesses, implement a user service system, and carry out maintenance.
