São Paulo – The balance sheet of the Central Government, which includes Social Security, National Treasury and Central Bank, registered, at the end of November, a deficit of BRL 21.278 billion (USD 5.511 billion), the worst result since the beginning of the historical series in 1997.
According to data released this Monday (28th) by the National Treasury Secretariat, the majority of the deficit was caused by Social Security, with posted a negative result of BRL 14.797 billion (USD 3.83 billion). The National Treasury had a deficit of BRL 6.433 billion (USD 1.66 billion), with the Central Bank registering a BRL 47.42 million (USD 12.28 million). Year-to-date, the Central Government has a deficit of BRL 54.330 billion (USD 14.07 billion).
