São Paulo – In February, Brazil saw the number of workers hired exceed that of workers dismissed for the first time since April 2015. According to the Ministry of Labor’s General Register of Employed and Unemployed Persons (Caged), 1,250,831 people were hired for jobs last month, and 1,215,219 were dismissed. The job surplus was 35,612.
In February, 38.3 million people were employed in Brazil. The Ministry of Labor said the numbers indicate recovery in sectors including the process industry and services. Workers hired outnumbered those dismissed by 8,280 for government jobs, and by 6,201 in agriculture.
