São Paulo – The Brazilian Ministry of National Integration invested R$ 2.1 billion (US$ 923 million)in infrastructure projects in the first half of 2013, twice the amount invested in the first half last year, which was R$ 1.1 billion (US$ 483 million), according to material released by the ministry.
The funds mostly went into water supply works, irrigation projects and disaster prevention policy works. By 2015, R$ 33.8 billion (US$ 14.8 billion) should be invested in water supply, anti-drought, irrigation and drainage projects.
