São Paulo – Brazilian motorcycle exports declined 47.8% in May over the same month of 2014, according to information released this Tuesday (9th) by the Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Motorcycles, Mopeds, Scooters, Bicycles and Similar Products (Abraciclo). In total, 3,600 motorcycles were shipped abroad last month.
Year-to-May, international sales added up to 12,700 motorcycles, an amount 68.5% lower than the same months of last year. From January to May 2014, 40,500 motorcycles were exported.
The manufacturing of motorcycles also dropped in May and year-to-date over the same month of 2014. Wholesale sales in Brazil (from manufacturers to dealers) also declined in both periods.
