São Paulo – Palestine spent US$ 908.9 million in the construction of new buildings and in expansion of buildings in its territories in the year of 2012. The value is 2.8% greater than spending in 2011, according to figures disclosed on Tuesday (4), by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
The cost in maintenance of existing buildings was US$ 246.8 million, 28.9% more than in 2011. The value was divided into US$ 177.8 million for the West Bank and US$ 69 million for Gaza strip.
The spending in repairs and improvement of existing buildings totalled US$ 392.8 million, a figure 12% greater than in 2011. Of the total volume of funds, US$ 310.3 million went to the West Bank and US$ 82.5 million went to Gaza strip.
