São Paulo – The city of São Paulo’s Secretariat of Development, Labor and Entrepreneurship promotes next Tuesday (18th) in the city of São Paulo, a meeting for companies covering the topic of employability of refugees and immigrants. Registrations can be made until this Friday (14th) and is for free.
With the topic “Dialogue about the insertion of immigrants and refugees in the labor market”, this will be the first meeting promoted by the secretariat about this topic designed for employers. The panel takes place at the auditorium of the Labor and Entrepreneurship Support Center – Luz (CATe), from 8:30 AM to noon.
According to information released by the secretariat, the goal is to open a space for dialogue between the companies, public authorities and organizations to discuss the topic of employability and to explain the legal questions that arise when hiring immigrants and refugees.
After the panel, the job hunting team of CATe will meet with representatives of the companies on the spot for the registration of the open spots for immigrants and refugees and for an individual explanation of other questions by the employers.
The meeting will be attended by the city’s secretaries Artur Henrique, from the department promoting the panel, and Eduardo Suplicy, secretary of Human Rights and Citizenship, in addition to other human rights authorities and leaders.
The initiative is a partnership between the São Paulo’s Secretariat of Human Rights and Citizenship, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Caritas’s Reference Center for Refugees, the Refugees Outplacement Program, Reference and Acceptance Center for Immigrants, the EMDOC company, of legal services in the refugees matter, and the network Global Compact.
