São Paulo – Tunisia’s industrial exports totaled TND 15.2 billion (USD 6.93 billion) from January to July against TND 14.6 billion (USD 6.66 billion) in the first seven months of 2015, an increase of 4.1% according to the country’s Ministry of Industry. The data was published this Tuesday (16) by news agency Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP).
The ministry reported that shipments were driven by the performance of the machinery and electrical industries, which reported sales of TND 7.5 billion (USD 3.42 billion) from January to July, an increase of 12% over the same period of last year.
Meanwhile, exports by the textile and apparel and leather and footwear sectors increased, respectively, 5.9% and 6.7%. Foreign sales by the chemical industry went up 13%. And shipments of foodstuff items in general increased 12.3%.
