São Paulo – The Lebanese Emigration Research Center at Notre Dame University, in Lebanon, is going to offer an academic course on the study of emigration, immigration, remigration, refugees, and migratory transit, from April 24th to 29th. The course is turned to professionals and students from all nationalities.
The objective of the training is to present the research methodology for immigration-related subjects. The programme is going to explore current theoretical concepts, promote discussions about international migration, discuss the integration of immigrants into the countries that receive them, and the impact of emigration on the countries of origin. The course also aims to help develop the ability to reflect of young professionals, researchers, students, journalists, and people linked to Non-Government Organisations.
Lebanon has one of the largest populations living abroad. In Brazil, for example, there are more Lebanese and descendents than in the Arab country itself. The issue of Lebanese emigration calls for lots of studies, especially in present days, in the face of the growing immigration flow. In recent years, the Lebanese Emigration Research Center is creating a data bank on emigration from the Arab country.
The number of participants in the course is limited to 35 people, and interested parties should enrol until Friday (04th).
