At the end of last year, Lebanese student Fernando Khatlab was awarded by newspaper L’Orient-Le Jour, from Beirut, for establishing a portal turned to the Lebanese and their descendants abroad.

An estimate by the Unctad shows that the country received US$ 41.7 billion in foreign direct investment, growth of 20.6%. Worldwide, the flow of capital decreased by 21% down to US$ 1.4 trillion.

During the term of Antonio Sarkis Jr. as president at the Arab Brazilian Chamber, trade with the Arabs grew 148%. The institution organised or participated in over 200 events in Brazil and abroad.
Cultivated in Ancient Egypt and widely consumed in the Mediterranean region, farro can now be found in soups, salads and pastas at Casa da Fazenda do Morumbi, in the city of São Paulo.
