Ouro Verde Amazônia, a small company with a factory in Alta Floresta, in the midwestern Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, produces and trades organic products derived from Brazil nuts. After receiving organic certification from Ecocert, the company started contacts with the foreign market. The first shipments will be to France, Australia and Malaysia.

A group of artisans from the city of Samambaia, in the Federal District of Brazil, where the country capital is located, uses leaves from the savannah, sisal and crochet to make handbags, panels, curtains, stoles, jerseys and skirts. The articles are successful in Brazil and in countries like the United States, Italy, France, Spain and New Zealand.

The discovery was made in Santos Basin, where the state-owned company found Tupi field, one of the largest oil reserves in the country, in 2007. Although there are not yet exact dimensions regarding the production capacity of the new area, named Jupiter, it is already believed that the country may reach self-sufficiency in gas.
