A group of companies from the southern Brazilian states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina decided to unite and export Latin and Brazilian style shoes. The initiative, led by shoe manufacturer Nina Simoni, started being implemented in 1999. Presently, the shoes are sold in nine regions of the world. Next year, the group plans on entering the Arab market.
